JEOS:RP welcomes new editor for quantum optics

JEOS:RP WELCOMES NEW EDITOR FOR QUANTUM OPTICS

JEOS:RP recently welcomed a third editor: Gerd Leuchs from Germany joins the editors Joseph Braat (NL) and Richard De La Rue (UK) to head the JEOS:RP editorial team.

With the enhanced focus of the journal on quantum optics, Gerd Leuchs is the new editor for this important research field. Leuchs studied physics and mathematics at the University of Cologne (DE) and received both his Ph.D. and the habilitation degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich (DE), with the late Herbert Walther as his supervisor. Since 2009 he has been one of the directors of the Max-Planck Institute for the Science of Light (MPL) in Erlangen (DE).

The editorial team of JEOS:RP consisted up to now of two editors and a larger number of specialised section editors. The very active research field of quantum optics was housed in the ‘physical optics’ part of the journal.
