Focus and Scope
JEOS:RP publishes articles in the fields of classical and quantum optics that have a sufficient level of scientific or technological novelty. A substantial optics content is necessary for being considered for publication. Submissions that just use optical tools for achieving results in other fields of physics / electronics / chemistry are better sent to specialised journals in these other fields.
We do not encourage the submission of papers that are based only on simulation results. Papers with primarily theoretical content must show a clear relationship to relevant experimental results.
We accept only electronic submissions in a Word or LaTeX format. The submitted papers are peer-reviewed.

Peer Review Process
Papers submitted to the journal will be peer-reviewed by at least one expert reviewer. The main criteria for acceptance are the novelty and scientific content of the submitted manuscript. Reviewers are normally expected to report within two weeks from the moment they acceptep the request for review.
Publication Frequency
The journal will publish articles as soon as they are available on a volume and year basis.
Open Access Policy
The journal is fully open access. This means that anybody is free to read papers published by this journal without the need to register with the journal. On top of the open access, the authors of a published paper have the full copyright of their publication.
Journal Impact Factor
First introduced by The Institute for Scientific Information® (ISI) in the 1960s, the impact factors of journals indexed by Thomson Reuters (formerly known as ISI) have been published annually in the Journal Citation Reports® since 1975. Being a tool for quantitative ranking, evaluating, categorizing and comparing journals, the impact factor measures the frequency with which the average paper in a journal has been cited in a particular year or period. It is calculated by dividing the number of current year citations to the source items published in the journal during the previous two years (source: Thomson Reuters). For more details about the impact factor, please see http://thomsonreuters.com/products_services/science/free/essays/impact_factor/. Thomson Reuters has recently released its 2014 Journal Citation Report and JEOS:RP achieved an impact factor of 1.231 - which is a substantial increase from the value of 1.019 in 2011.
